Mental Health Peace Officer Training [TCLEOSE #4001]
Don Castellano-Hoyt, Instructor

A civil war is going on in the mental health industry. I have said so publicly (Enhancing Police Response to Persons in Mental Health Crisis, Charles C Thomas, Publishers, Springfield, Illinois, 2003).

That war, like a mighty hurricane, is now raging with the prospect of the publication of the fifth edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual [the DSM]. The previous editors of  the DSM, psychiatrists Drs. Spitzer and Frances, worry about ‘psychiatry going over the cliff.’

This training site is intended to provide an unvarnished look at what is meant in the TCLEOSE training on mental illness by “Adversity of Mental Illness.” The adversity arises not from social stigma nor unknown causes of mental illness, but from the horrendous results of psychiatric disregard for truth and unwillingness to engage in a philosophic debate about the nature of normality specifically and the meaning of existence in general.

This site is in process of being built. Please go to my current site http://castellano-hoyt.com to get an idea where I will be taking the TCLEOSE MHPO course.
Here is a sample video that will give the police student an idea of the baseless grounds upon which psychiatrists make diagnoses for the sake of reimbursement rather than for the sake of patient care.
